b.tween and timelinesSocial network in a physical context - electronic scrapbooks - temporal
bookmarks... some kind of Buzzword Bingo game? No, it's 'Timelines',
commissioned by b.TWEEN 06.
Connecting the 7 floor National Museum of Media in Bradford with RFID,
Someth;ng produced a project recording the behaviours, interests, sights and
sounds of the conference, and providing an individual record of it to one
hundred delegates at the event. Probably our most ambitious project to date,
we broke new ground in ways of using RFID and ad-hoc social networking
software. With visualisation of people's movements and interests in real
time shown on projectors, plasma displays and the occassional Cinerama
screen, the project was immensely well-received and triggered a flurry of
fascination in RFID for the duration of the event.
